FLASH: Utah poised to reject vouchers by wide margin
It's still early, with only about half the state's precincts counted at this point, but all indications point to another voter rout of private school vouchers, this time in Utah, arguably the nation's most conservative state. Two hours after the polls closed, 65% of voters had said no to what would be the nation's first universal voucher program. Many votes are still to be counted in Salt Lake County, where opposition to this point has trended higher than the rest of the state. Another signal that the result is a foregone conclusion? Vouchers are losing, by substantial margins, in every single county. You can follow the state election results online.
BoardBuzz will have plenty more to say on the results later today. Back story on the Utah campaign here and here.
