Packin' a silly punch
BoardBuzz loves a quirky story, and this is actually a two-fer. There are two contests out there for students to participate in -- each involving packing supplies.
First is the Bubble Wrap Competition for Young Inventors, which offers students in grades 5-8 the opportunity to invent something using Bubble Wrap (you know, the clear packaging stuff that comes with your packages that can be so fun--and irritating--to pop). The contest is sponsored by Bubble Wrap and the National Museum of Education. Winning entries can nab up to $10,000 in prizes. Now that's eye popping!
The other competition is the Duck Brand Tape "Stuck at Prom" competition which allows students to -- you are sitting down, aren't you? -- create their prom attire out of duct tape. Sure, you always knew there were a million miracle uses for the stuff, but formal wear? BoardBuzz recommends checking out the gallery of past winners and entrants, because the creativity and artistry is amazing. Winners this year received $6,000.
