Fuzz buzz

BoardBuzz hasn't shared a warm fuzzy in a while, so when we saw this tidbit in Education Week, we had to pass it along.

It turns out that Mary Masterman, a senior from Oklahoma City recently won a $100,000 scholarship for building "an inexpensive yet accurate spectrograph that identifies the 'fingerprints' of different molecules." BoardBuzz isn't exactly sure what that means, but it sounds cool. Score another for a talented young scientist (and a female one at that). Mary beat out more than 1,700 other students who entered the Intel Science Talent Search. Read more here about Mary's winning project and the other top 10 winners.
