UPDATE: College Board to examine student fatigue in SAT scores
As BoardBuzz reported yesterday, universities are noticing a drop in SAT scores. Student fatigue, due to the grueling 3 hour and 35 minute test is definitely a suspect, which has caused the College Board, the nonprofit organization that owns the test, to examine fatigue as a factor.
There has been pressure on the College Board to allow students two days to take the different sections of the test. CNN is reporting that the issue is on today's agenda of the SAT committee meeting of the College Board in New York. While it's not unusual for test scores to drop as much as 8 points in a year, this drop in scores stands out because it coincides with the new test, which debuted in March 2005 and includes a new writing section.
