Virginia study finds No Child Left Behind shortfall

Yesterday, a study conducted at the request of the Virginia State Assembly concluded that it has cost the state $61 million to pick up the funding shortfall from implementation of No Child Left Behind. State Sen. Emmett W. Hanger Jr. (R-Augusta), sponsor of the bill requesting the study, tells the Washington Post the report shows that local governments are paying "significantly" more than they get from the federal government and that the state should withdraw from NCLB.
