"... if you bring 'em, we'll teach 'em"

So says Mississippi state senator and education committee chair Mike Chaney. One thing that will help sheltered homeless families and educate the huge number of displaced students is 20,000 trailers sitting in Atlanta. As soon as FEMA and the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, MEMA, sort out who can order the trailers to be shipped, school officials hope to begin reopening schools. This increased pressure comes at a time when Mississippi schools were already experiencing funding shortages. Although Senator Chaney remains willing, he adds that "It's a hell of a mess and it couldn't come at a worse time."
