Boards facing tough issues

Too few females running for school boards? This article from Pennsylvania has good numbers from that state. Are Minnesota school boards out of step with the rest of the country when it comes to policing political advocacy at school? A former state education commissioner says yes. A Florida school board turns down a raise. And a report is out today co-sponsored by the Kentucky School Boards Association focusing on poverty in that state. A key point: Young families are three times more likely to live in poverty than families headed by parents 25 or older.
