Justice O'Connor to take a bow

This, of course, is the big news of the day and, politically speaking, perhaps of the summer. We probably can look forward to a truly unholy row over the appointment of her successor to the Supreme Court. The stakes are very, very high. Think about all the 5-4 decisions in which Sandra Day O'Connor was one of the five, if not the author of the opinion. Here are one example of the first and one example of the second that matter to America's school boards. Stay tuned.
